Today I got a new guitar.
For me, there's a bond I have with my guitars. Guitars have an energy. And when I feel that energy, I want to play more — it's not really a choice, it just happens.
On the other side of the coin, I had four bass guitars. First, I rarely play bass anymore these days. And second, two of those basses never really felt right in my hands. But being a lefty, good options are hard to come by, so I bought them anyway and hoped the feel would grow on me. It never quite did.
So, to make room — both in my house and in my pocketbook — I put them up for consignment. That'll help me bring in more stuff I'm actually going to use.
Which brings me to today. Welcome to the family, AF 55. I'll eventually come up with a better name for you, but for now I'm open to suggestions.
In honor of this occasion, I have linked my song “My Fathers Guitar” to this post. It is a love song told through the passing down of a guitar. Enjoy
