This weeks New Song Sunday is dedicated to the hope that we have a great ski season this year. We have the promise of a big El Nino and the forcasts look good for New Mexico.
Skiing has been a huge part of my life and I have had the opporunity to ski most of the great ski resorts in North America - including Aspen, Sun Valley, Vail, Beaver Creek and many others. For 15 years I was a ski patroller at Sugar Bowl in California.
In 2024 I wrote this song - Snow in My Hair. Originally it was written for just guitar and harmonica. When we were recording Here in Santa Fe we just started messing around - trying to give it a Grateful Dead feel.
Ultimately we did not include it on the album but maybe I will release it as a single at some point. On this recording Ron Whitmore is on keys, David Wilkinson on the lead guitar and I played guitar and bass.
